I'm a ceramicist, based in San Francisco.
I made my first pottery circa 2000, in high school in Rhode Island, where I grew up on a farm surrounded by woods. I would spend hours exploring and collecting rocks, leaves, flowers, bugs... Since I left for college, I’ve lived in cities – Paris, New York, Baltimore, Shanghai, and now San Francisco – but I’ve always kept my fascination and love of nature and the beauty of organic forms.
I work mostly on the wheel and I love the spinning symmetry, but I’ve also been exploring techniques like slip casting, tile-making, and altering thrown forms with carving and joining. Whether I’m making functional ware or sculptural art, my goal is to contribute something beautiful to the spaces we live in and experience.
